Cinderella
Puppet Maker
I worked with the designer's brief to build three texture-heavy, industrial, structural puppets: a dancing bear, a forest fairy and a wolfhound. I designed and trialled most of the mechanics and form before they were put to real test in rehearsals. After which final touches to the joins, handles and rendering was made.
The majority of the puppet structures are made from willow or worbla. The wolfhound's legs are cut from dyed birch ply and much of the rendering materials are leather, melted ribbons and distressed faux fur, which I sprayed into.
